Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi all,
I have a 12 week old doodle pup, and am looking for good training treats for her, things I can leave her during the day (like in a kong), and particularly good chew toys/treats. We give our other dog antlers, but I'm not sure what age those are appropriate for. Any recommendations for age-appropriate treats and chews? Thanks!

Kongs are great. Stuff it with her kibble and a little bit of peanut butter so she has to work at getting the kibble out.
Antlers should be fine for her.
Nylabone Durachews might also be a good choice of chew. Be sure that it's the nonedible Durachew kind, those are the only ones I can recommend as being safe.
For training treats, try Zuke's minis or Pure Bites...both very small and easy to carry around with you. The Pure Bites are plain dehydrated chicken (or whatever flavor) with no other ingredients, easy on the digestion, and dogs love them.
BG's advice on stuffing the Kong with kibble and a tiny bit of of peanut butter is good. Be sure to account for those extra calories in her daily food intake.
Thanks for all the suggestions! What about a little bit of yogurt (plain organic) with the food in the kong? Is that ok as a change from peanut butter?
