I would say count on her being a shedder! If she happens to stop, then you will be pleasantly surprised. The puppies that shed that have stopped shedding, from my memory on here are few and far between. That isn't to say it won't happen, but my money would be on her always shedding!
Thanks, I will count on that and hope to be pleasantly surprised :)
Finnley used to shed (not tons) until she was about 6 months old. That was when she got her first real grooming. All the shedding stopped, and her straighter frizzy coat turned very wavy, wooly. She recently at 9 months began to lose a little fur ball here and there. However she is in need of a major grooming again. I haven't brought her in because it's so cold here. Maybe her first haircut will cut the puppy fur off and help.
I forgot to add that she is only 11 weeks old.
Trixie shed like crazy as a puppy...If I held her my shirt looked white...Then it slowed down a little at maybe 6 months...Then got really bad when she blew her puppy coat- around 8-12 months-she would leave clumps of heair everywhere...She is 2 now...She does still shed...But not like she did as a puppy. Some clothes pick it up worse then others...But Most of my clothes I can leave the house in & only have a few hairs on them at most
Jack shed when he was a puppy but stopped around four or six months.. Hard to remember. That doesn't mean that will be the case with you as each dog is different. Jack is an F1b.... but I remember as a puppy holding him and having fur on my clothes.. Never on the floor or furniture that was noticeable.
She just may stop.
One of mine shed at first but stopped later on. Just when most blow a puppy coat, she stopped shedding entirely.
Who knows with a mixed breed dog?
You just don't know. I have an F1 that goes through periods of shedding - sometimes she hardly does, other times I can see it flying off of her if she jumps on something.
I have a golden doodle that is 3/4 retriever and 1/4 poodle, I'm assuming a F1B? Her hair has always been straight and she looks like a mini retriever. She started shedding at around 5 months. She is now 9 months and sheds so much there are hair balls every day!! Since she isn't curly I expected her to shed, but not this much. I brush her a couple of times a week with the furminator brush and it removes a lot of hair. I don't know if she is still shedding her puppy hair or if this will slow down. I'm interested to hear too what others have to say. Your puppy looks younger than mine, so she is probably losing her puppy hair still. (Sorry had an issue with her picture coming in side ways, couldn't figure out how to correct it)
You just need to do a rotate 90 degrees with your photo program. Most photo programs will do that as you download from your camera (or camera phone).
If she is an F1b with the Goldendoodle bred back to another retriever, she will probably shed more like a retriever. The reason (or one reason) they breed the goldendoodles back to the poodle is to get less shedding. I have an F1b but bred back to a standard poodle. He does not shed at all and has a great coat (very little care). She may shed less after she had shed the puppy coat, but don't count on it.
