Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

From what I've read, she should not be losing her puppy coat any time soon but my little puppy is shedding like crazy! I brushed her very good last night and she just rode with me to pick the kids up from school and sat in my lap, my black pants are COVERED in little short curly and straight puppy hairs! She is an F1B Goldendoodle and the breeder thought she would be very woolen, actually more so than I was hoping for even, so I really don't think she will be a heavy shedder. It won't bother me that much if she is, but I am just wondering. Is this just her fly away puppy frizz that is blowing off or is this a sign that she will be a pretty good shedder? Thanks!

She is an F1B (Goldendoodle bred back to a standard poodle) and is supposed to shed very little to none. I really think it is just her frizzy fly away puppy fuzz that is coming off onto our clothes but we will see.

Does she still shed as an adult?

Hi,

I’m chiming in a bit late.  I also have an f1b who is now 3 years old.  I remember taking her home from the breeder and my black hoodie was covered with hair!  Nala is what is called an open faced doodle.  She looks like a mini golden retriever really.  She is a seasonal shedder.  In the spring she sheds a lot and gets her summer coat.  And in October again is a shedding time where she gets her winter coat, which is a darker red in color.  She does shed throughout the rest of the year, but not heavy at all.  There are times no hair is coming off of her.  We brush her everyday.  On the plus side I don’t have to take her to a groomer :) We just adore her and don’t mind the hair one bit.

Good luck with your doodle.  She is just beautiful btw!
Christine
