Hi everybody! I took jace this morning to get neutered and I ha to leave him over night, I may or may not have teared up... Anyway. I went to go get him some new treats tonight and something's to keep him occupied while he can't play and maybe deter him from his wound, I bought him an elk antler tonight and a bully stick. The antler isn't big but it's not small either, about the length from my index finger to my mid palm.. I was wondering about what size you all get, he's 6 months old now and not too big yet, but is a big chewer!

I like bigger antlers for Finnley, and I buy her big marrow bones too. She gets a new bone once a week. I did give her those sizes when she was smaller as well. I was always afraid of choking. Today I actually commented to my husband that Finnley has her bad moments, (garbage diving and toilet paper stealing) but she has never chewed anything up, or shredded her toys. Maybe he need to chew was conquered with all her antlers and bones !
Hope that Jace isn't suffering from his surgery. I'm sure that he'll be bouncing around like nothing even happened in a day ! :)

So glad to see this post...I was looking for the site to buy these whole antlers and could not remember who it was that had gotten one for their doodle for christmas.  Off to wildchewz!!

I've not seen whole antlers at the stores I go to.... I'll have to do more looking!

Emily,  I like to get bigger antlers so my heavy chewers can enjoy them longer but I do throw them away when they get to a size that could be swallowed whole.  I also look for antlers that are as dense as possible.

Oh wow! Never seen those before!!! I feel like if z and b got a hold of those they would get tangled up in them lol!

Never heard of them drying out...How do you tell if they are dry?  I bought Bailey the large white tail deer antler and she loves it...

We have multiple antlers around the house also.  Harley and George hide them...I'm assuming from each other.  I did order 2 whole antlers this morning,  One of the large white tail deer and one of the mule deer...will be interesting to see if they like one over the other.

Zoe is a mini at 25 lbs but I still get her the large ones. She still has her very first one that I got for her at 6-8 months. I have gotten them other ones and alternate but they last a long time!!!

I think that if he continues to lick to the point of irritating it or constantly staying wet I  would consider a onesie. It still will get air to it.   And you could take it off for periods of time during the day when you would be able to keep a close eye on him.
