Notice: What is going on with Blue Buffalo?!

I just started adding BB Life Large Puppy Breed to Chopper's current food Puppy Pro Plan which the breeder had him on. After what other pet owners went through I want the stuff out of my house ASAP. :/ So now to find another food for him....sigh...

The thing is, a LOT of doodle puppies come home with giardia and the incubation period is two weeks. If you change foods and add things to their diets, and they get diarrhea, you wont know if the food changes are causing it or if there are parasites, and they dont always show up in the tests. So only change one thing at a time. Since youve already started a food change, dont change or add anything else until he's been on the new food completely for a week or two and you have good, solid poop.

Thanks for all the info Karen. So glad I found this sight! Vet gave the ok to start slowly changing over. For the first week I will leave it at 1/4 BB to 3/4 PP. If he has any stool issues I will bring her a sample to test for parasites. He also has an appt on the 20th to make sure he is healthy and gaining weight as he should. That may be a good time to test as well. I signed up for the Puppy Plan Plus offered at the clinic that takes care of his first year of normal pup vet visits/neutering and gives good discounts on any extra tests he may need. I have no plans to introduce anything else new until we know all is working as it should.

I feed Chance grain free Blue Buffalo puppy formula and it has never caused him problems.
