Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Welcome to puppy madness! I think it would be a great idea to all post a little about yourself and your doodle. Photos are ALWAYS welcome.

Thinks you might want to share:

1) Your Name/Doodle Name

2) Location

3) Doodle type (goldendoodle/labradoodle; mini/standard; F1/F2)

4) Doodle age/weight

5) Photo

6) Anything else

Would also be great to come back here as your doodle ages to respond to your comment and post updates for age/weight/photos etc.

Now our doodle baby has arrived, so figured it was time to introduce her properly.

Her name is now Zoe - she's very lively, and since Zoe means "life" we thought it fitting.

We live in Houston - through DoodleKisses we've discovered the city has an active Doodle community so feel lucky that I can tap into that.

Zoe is an F1b Goldendoodle. I would describe her as a parti, but since she has 3 colors (white, black and tan) I'm not sure that is the right term.

She was with the vet 1st March and was then almost 15 weeks and weighed 14 lbs - the vet said she'll be a small one, and guessed 35 lbs.

She is a real sweetheart. By personality she's more independent than other dogs we've had. So we give her extra much love to make sure we get a strong bond. Really seeing the effect! But her favorite thing to do is to play with our older dog. First 3-5 days my old dog was really jealous, but then it passed (with some work from my side) and they're now the best of friends. Her nipping is much less than other dogs I've had, so that is a real relief. And she's smart as a whip. She already has "sit", "down", "leave it", "say hi" nailed. She's pretty consistent at peeing outside, but since she hides away to poo I don't get to praise her often enough for pooing outside so that we're still working on. Now that she's fully immunized for parvo we can also start working more focused on "come here". She's good at it in the back yard, but less good when distracted so time to practice in the park.

I attach two pics. One is a few weeks old - was from the weekend before Valentines when one of her spots evolved into a heart. Best Valentines gift ever! The other is from yesterday - love her wet, scruffy look.

She is gorgeous!!!! Love her coloring :)

Hi Everyone!

I originally responded to this posting before, but since we made some changes- I felt like I wanted to give you more up to date info.  We have had our baby now for about 2 weeks!

1) Your Name/Doodle Name:  Suzanne & Keith Newman/Whidbey

2) Location:  Seattle area- Bothell, WA

3) Doodle type:  Whidbey is a F2 Goldendoodle

4) Doodle age/weight:  She was born 1/6/13- 9 weeks old.  I suspect she is about 12 lbs or so now?

5) Photo- you can see on my profile!

6) We had originally picked out a black doodle- but after discussions with my husband, he really wanted a lighter color- so we were blessed to get Whidbey.  She is a VERY girly girl!  So dainty, and if I dare say "feminine"?

My 20+ lb maine coon cat, Beauregard is NOT happy about this. ANY advice on making things easier around here with him that would be great.  He is SLOWLY adjusting, but still charges her every once in awhile. (He has done it about 4-5 times in the past two weeks.)  She is (rightly so) afraid of him.  There is some consolation that she will get a lot bigger than he is, and that will likely be somewhat of a better deterrent, right??

I am learning a LOT in this forum!  I strongly recommend all of us new doodle owners to use it as a great reference.  I have read some awesome tips and most certainly will keep coming back for more!

Nice meeting everyone!!

EXACTLY the problem I am having with my cat! She is 3.5 and

We have a 15 year old tabby that HATES my doodle but now that the doodle is so much bigger (right around 75 pounds) the cat just takes it like a man. It took our cat between 3 and 4 months to "tolerate" Stanlee but he still hangs out on the back of the couch or under the kitchen table so Stan has "limited access".

I will say, however, that the cat's ears have never been cleaner........lots of luck!

Thanks Marnie!

Beau is starting to come around...   He still has his moments.. but it's MUCH better!

Hello from Jeanne and "Olive"

Jeanne Rose-Leathers and "Olive"

Seattle, Washington

Doodle:  Goldendoodle

Olive is now 32lbs and 17weeks old

Photo here, early morning

We found Olive on line, a family that needed to re-home her. She has been a delight. She is

very stubborn at times and is a challenge. I now have her in Training as I thought it would help

with her manners. :) It is helping so much. We have had three classes of six so far. I hope to

get her used to people, mainly not jumping up, that is my biggest issue as well as peeing with

friendly excitement. We have been told she could be as big as 65 lbs so I hope to have her trained before so long.

Hope to learn a lot here on the puppy madness site! LOL

Jeanne and Olive

Hi Jeanne!

Great you are in the Seattle area!  I live in Bothell, and my Whidbey is 9 weeks old!  When she gets bigger it would be great to meet for coffee and introduce them!!

This site is GREAT!  I have learned a lot here!!

We just got our Puppy 2 weeks ago!

Kim & Gleneden's Tony Tony Chopper  aka "Chopper"

Sterling VA/Kitty Hawk NC

He is an F1b Chocolate Standard.

He is 11 weeks old and weighs 16lbs

His favorite play spot. The pool cover. That may change when he is over 50lbs. :D

Griffin will be joining us in about 3 weeks.

Shenandoah Valley, VA

standard poodle/Golden

We've been visiting him and are in love already! We're very new to dogs (kids and hubby have never had one and it has been 20+ years for me) so I'm ready to LEARN as much as I can :-)

I am a new mini aussie doodle owner in Malvern, PA.

Bennie is 8 weeks old and so very darling!  My family has completely fallen in love!
