Oh she was so beautiful--what a sweet photo of her. Fly with the angles, Sophie.
I am so sorry to hear about Sophie. I've followed her story and am positive she knew how much she was loved/how hard you fought. Just like the loves we lose who walk on two legs, the time will come when thinking of her does not bring tears and hurt. It will bring smiles and warm feelings of the times you shared. Until that time, you, Lucy and the family are in our thoughts and prayers.
So very sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful girl.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I read the news. So young, so beautiful, and so loved. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
I am so sorry to hear about Sophie. I also knew it would come but not this soon. Sophie was such a beautiful girl and I know she felt your love every day as you felt hers. Hugs to you all!
Oh Sherri, This is such heartbreaking news. Sophie was so blessed to have you as her Momma and I know how blessed you feel to have had her in your life. I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. RIP beautiful girl.
So very sorry to hear about Miss Sophie. I was thinking this too shall pass and all will be well, gives great pause to our own livelihood and days to come. So sorry, I feel your pain, but certainly not like you do. You take care. Give your family members a hug from me, hang on Sophie's Mom.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. |

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown... |
Sherri, I am so sad for you. May your wonderful memories of Sophie help you in your grief. Hugs.
So very sorry on the loss of Sophie. Looking at her two photos and she is smiling in both of them, what a loved and happy doodle she was.
Thank you all so much for all your wonderful, kind, caring words, but most importantly for your love for Sophie. Believe me when I say that I have read and cried through each and everyone of them. I finally had to take a break and get away from it all so I could get the tears to stop. We had sincerely hoped that Sophie would be one of the lucky ones that responded to the Chemo and made it 2+ years but that unfortunately was not our reality. We just couldn't find a drug that would get her into remission. She would get down and we would get her back, but we just couldn't keep her there. The time between treatments kept getting shorter and shorter. The bounce she would get just wouldn't last. She tried hard and she gave it her all. There just finally came a time when we couldn't ask her to continue trying. Things just sort of started piling up on her and she wasn't able to fight them all. Lucy is holding her own. She was on the back burner for 5 months while we took care of Sophie and she was so good about it. It is going to be interesting in the days ahead to see how she comes into her own as the only 4 legged member of the family. We will all try and figure out what our new normal is going to be. Again I thank all of you for your kind words and most importantly for just loving her!
