Greetings-
My Doodle Bucky was just recently tested positive for Lyme the vet put him on Doxy along with Sucraflate 1 hr prior to doxy as a PreMed to ease nausea-well the poor thing cannot keep any of his meals down-poor fella-it kills me
I have read that maybe Rantidine otc 1 mg per pound may help-any help would be greatly appreciated- -This Lyme Disease, Erlichiosis and all of the other tick borne diseases are so scary-
Thanks
Dory

I'm sorry your dog is suffering with this.
Ranitidine has been very helpful for my Jack, who takes several meds for a GI disease. In the past, it helped him a lot with nausea when he was on antibiotics, too. He gets 75 mg twice a day on days when he doesn't get prednisone, and 137.5 mg. twice a day on the days when he does get the steroids. His weight fluctuates between 72-82 lbs.
JD was on Sucralfate prior to his diagnosis, and it really didn't help at all, in fact it seemed to make things worse. Plus it was the most difficult drug to administer that I have ever experienced.
I hope Bucky improves and his treatment is successful.
Hi Karen-
Thanks so much for your input-I just came back from CVS and picked some up-poor Bucky threw up in the car on the way home )0:
I'll keep you posted on how we make out-
Good luck with Jack-
I made a mistake above, it should have been 112.5 mg, not 137.5...in other words, one and a half 75 tablets.
I hope the ranitidine helps Bucky!
So scary! Hope Bucky feels better soon!
