Noah and Sherlock went to their first professional photo shoot this past weekend! It was great having two dogs there, because when one got tired, the other could take a turn being in the spot light. We had a lot of difficulty getting pictures of Noah with both eyes open - he was so sleepy! The photographer quickly switched to a "sleep" scene for Noah and it worked a lot better.

What tricks do you use to get your dog's attention and to really get a great expression? After a while, no matter what type of bird calls, toys, treats the photographer used, both dogs looked pretty bored (evidence shown below). The session took about 1.5 hours with lots of play time for the dogs in between. I've noticed that Sherlock's ears and whole expression really perk up with the sound of plastic (this noise usually means yummy people food!) and Noah seems to be more interested in music!

Some of the photos are below...

Jane the pictures are beautiful. I like more candid shots but I love these. I might have to try to get some professional one's of 3 dogs. That should be fun!
those are excellent! I love the background color because it looks gorgeous with your dogs coloring :-)
I usually am a mean mean mommy and trick my dogs with questions such as:

"Do you want to go on a walk?"

"Who's hungry?"

"Where's the squirrel?"

Poor Cass, my 13-year-old border collie, was so excited after I had asked her about going on a walk several times during our Christmas photo shoot. And then there was no walk :-(

my dogs tend to respond to statements in the form of a question-- helps if you really lift your voice at the end emphasized in the question part of the sentence.
I do the mean mommy stuff too Adina :)

Walk?

Are you hungry?

What do you want to do today????
(that's Buddy's special question, his look is the adoring "anything with you mom!" LOL)

The pictures are fabulous Jane, I just love it when I can see Kona's eyes inside all those chocolate curls most of the time :)
What great pictures! They are adorable!!
CUUUUUTE! The photos had me laugh, I love the first one, with the white doggie all alert and ready, and the other thinking 'get me outta here!'.
