You gave me a great idea which I sent a message to NJ Group. I am getting very lazy and feeling very guilty about not taking Samantha anywhere other than work. We stop at the dog park but she really loves to play and the dogs there are not interested in Doodle Play.
If we have a 'date' to meet, then I definitely move my tush. If not, it is so much easier to sit home and try to keep her occupied.

I hope I get a few positive responses.
Now to the question you asked,
Samantha loves to play Roley Poley. We can do that very often - no physical exercise but lots of mental stimulation.
We are also working on the treadmill - should say Samantha is working on it. We just started this and is still not quite sure of it so I stand with my arm behind her behind to keep her moving foward. Again, she is moving, not me.
Samantha is ball obsessed - a few throws and she is happy. She is a Doodle that when is tired, lays down to rest and then recharges so I get to step inside to defrost for a few minutes.
Can't wait to see what others are doing to keep our active Doodles active during the winter.

What is Roley Poley???? Willson loves to play with his favorite blue ball he can catch it in his mouth and run around the house then he lays done he had enough, the 4 seconds later up again, These winter months will be hard her in WI but he does like to go for car rides we just might be going to Pet Smart alot, he loves to shop there. I do call a few neighbors and get the dogs out for some play time even if it is 15 minutes, it will be harder when that temp drops to below zero EEEKS
Roley poley is where Samantha lays down app 3-5 feet from me - I roll the ball to her between her front legs. We would play it with the human kids when they were little jsut roll the ball back and forth., She takes a chew or two and then rolls it back to me with her nose. We can do sit together on the floor for quite awhile. It is usually me who ends the game - the tush gets numb from sitting, DH taught her so I don't know how he did it but I am glad he did. Something quiet to do but she gets to use her brain.
Sorry I didn't see your question until just now. Been down with a horrendous cold for the past 10 days and when upright I was trying to work on my page.
I love it! I already made the group, so join by all means. I might change the group name to doodle-cize, that is way too cute. I love lame things like that.
Ali - sounds like a great idea. I would love to get some suggestions. We are starting our rainy season here in Sacramento and with two dogs it's not always easy to get them mentally and physicially challenged when it's pouring outside. The dogs get about 45 minutes of exercise every day - I either walk them or they follow me on when I ride my bike. But, again, with the storms coming in I need to find some alternate ideas when I just can't exercise them. I wonder what the folks who live in snow areas do? Brrrr...........
Well you will have to read all the ideas that are posted. You should join and share your ideas as well.
