My 5 month old Golden Doodle lost two teeth today playing with another dog. Another is lose, and there is some blood. I know that losing teeth at this age is normal, but is the blood? And is it from playing roughly? Thank you for any guidance.

How much blood?  I don't remember blood when my dogs were teething...maybe just a little around the tooth that fell off but nothing extremely noticeable.  It probably came off a little prematurely but I don't think it's a bad thing.  The adult tooth will still grow in.

Not much.. Around the gum line, and I noticed some drops on the white dog she was playing with.

oh that's not much at all I dont th ink you should worry

Stanlee had a bit of blood one time after losing a tooth (or two) when playing with his "brother."  It stopped very quickly so I didn't worry.

It would be the same as children when they lose teeth...a little blood can be expected...don't worry :)

We'd find a little bit of blood on our white schnauzer after Willow would chew on him while playing. But I was also dealing with my daughter losing teeth, and she also had some bleeding (not from chewing on a schnauzer though) and it all seemed normal. I think Willow also swallowed most of her teeth, because I rarely found any.

Thank you for all the answers and support! I am a new mama and just worried! I also noticed what looks like a bit of broken tooth in one of the spots. Should I try to get it out? Let it come out itself? Call the vet?

Were they baby teeth? If so, I wouldn't worry.

If they were adult teeth, I would worry.

Our guy lost most of his teeth by chewing on things around months 5-6. Blood was always involved, with a few drops on every toy that helped get them out of his mouth,.

It sounds perfectly normal to me.

Olive did the same thing and she is fine now with new pretty teeth coming in. i have been giving her Bully Sticks, ( I dreaded doing so) but she was chewing everything. She is 21 weeks now. I bet Theo is happy to have those teeth gone,
I think he will be happier and the sharp puppy teeth are great to get rid of. Hang in there, Theo is so cute!

Dampen a white cotton tube sock and tie it in knots then freeze it.  This was soothing and a life saver when Gavin was teething.

Think of kids losing baby teeth - same thing.
