My "Oliver" gets car sick on long trips. He is fine on short trips around town. It's only 2 times now on a 5-7 hour trip. We tried Dramamine and not feeding him. So far neither has helped. The vet thinks he'll grow out of it, since he just turned "1". I would LOVE any helpful suggestions!!!

Do you feed him before long trips? Oliver also does the salivating first. Window open and distracting him does seem to help.

we don't feed meals -- we feed 'snacks' and shifts.

normally he eats 3.3 cups of Orijen in 2-3 shifts a day.

on a 13 hour car ride, breakfast is water + 1/3 cup ; every 2-3 hours we'd stop and give him some more food and water  -- then a big meal at the destination.

we also feed him junk food -- trader joes has these "organic brown rice & chicken" dog treats.  we use them for training.  in the car, we can give him little bites throughout the trip, and he has no problem keeping them in.

Thinking Oliver might do better with a little food in his stomach. I did give him some Stella & Chewy freeze dried chicken in the morning and then fed him his dinner as soon as we got home!!! I feel so bad for him. Hoping he grows out of it. He is very tall and the vet said that makes it worse, throws off their equalibrium in the car a bit!!!
