I am looking for some good books to read. Any suggestions from your all-time favorites list, the books you could re-read because you just love them that much?
A few of mine are:
Little Women
Fortune's Rocks
My Heart Laid Bare
Pride and Prejudice
The Secret Life of Bees

How about a couple of favorite authors? I have read just about everything from Dean Koontz and have even reread many of his books. Especially like the Odd Thomas books and the Frankenstein series. Also really enjoy books by Paulo Coelho, although they are not the types of books everyone would enjoy. His book, The Alchemist, is an all-time favorite of mine.
A dog book that I really liked was Merle's Door, a book about a dog that was picked up on a raft trip down the Colorado River and then spent his life in Wyoming.
Pat Conroy
The Secret Life of Bees was very good. One of my all time favorites is To Kill A Mockingbird. I love that book.
For the last few years I have been reading a lot of mysteries, fun reads, enjoyable, however some of the more memorable books I have read were by authors: Isaac Bashevis Singer, Kay Redfield Jamison, Arthur Golden, Irvin Yalom, Primo Levi, and of course Louisa may Alcott. There are so many books, so little time...
Survival In Auschwitz (Primo Levi) is the most heart-wrenching book I have ever read. I read it often, and cry every time.
I am a huge fantasy fan. Some of my favourites are:
The Chronicles of Narnia- Lewis (it reminds me of my childhood, and it's a beautiful story)
The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit - Tolkien (lotr can be difficult to get through but its worth it and you get so much more out of it than the movies)
A Song of Ice and Fire - Martin (the game of thrones books)
I'm looking for something amazing to spend my winter break reading, but since Im still in school I always feel guilty reading non-school literature haha.
The Hunger Games, Pie (this one is a super easy read), and, The Tale of Emily Windsnap. Most of these are and easy read but they are still good. Oh i almost forgot, The Missing Series. Oh and the Series of Unfortunate Events.
I love me some Jane Austen. Have you read Emma? I enjoy it almost as much as P&P. If you are looking for something
lighter, there is a ton of fiction based on Jane Austen. I have really enjoyed some of those.
Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre are also favorites.
I was thinking about some favorite books when I picked up The Horse Whisper again. I have read the book and have seen the movie, but decided to read it again. Two others that I have read several times and seen the movies are Where the Red Fern Grows and White Fang. They are books that I can read over and over. Also Whispers by Dean Koontz. I think that really is my all-time favorite book.
Love love love Where The Red Fern Grows. I remember years ago reading it and crying my eye's out.
