Hello my friends :)

I am sorry I have not been on lately :( I hope you all are doing well these days. I can not believe school is almost out again. It is that time of the year, working on IEPs and the Ohio Achievement Assessment. It has been one heck of a school year.

How have you all been? How is everyone's school districts?

I've been subbing this year and loving it. I bring in a project and tell the kids that if we get everything done that their teacher left for me, we can do the art project. They work their buns off to get to do some art. We have done a lot of origami and making little things like chicks, ornaments, dodecahedrons, etc. I enjoy it as much as the students do. Right now I sub in the afternoons during negotiations and after testing. That means I get in a swim in the morning before lunch. Ahhhh, life is good. Love retirement.

My DH and I retired last June and haven't done any subbing yet, although I was asked to. Honestly, we do not miss school at all and I really thought I would. When you mentioned IEPs and state achievement tests, I did get a twinge of 'missing the routine' though. I am impressed with Lynda's subbing methods.

You got a twinge on missing the tests???? OH BOY......I know I will not miss them when I retire. LOL!!! Although I am really starting to think I will never be able to retire with Ohio changing the age constantly.
