So I was at our tractor supply store and came across a dog food called 4health that is sold strictly by tractor supply. The ingredients looked good and it looked like a decent food with a good price. I was wondering if anyone had experience on this food or an opinion about it. It's listed on the tractor supply website.

Thanks!

Lots of discussions on this food going back 3 or 4 years. Here are the results of a search I just did her in our discussions:

They have had a ton of recalls, the most recent one just a month or two ago. The biggest problem with this food is that is owned and made by Diamond, the king of the recalls. Sourcing of ingredients is an issue as well as the manufacturing process which keeps running into contamination problems.

As far as the price, you have to look at the feeding guidelines and the calories. You cannot go by the price on the bag. If food A costs $10 more than food B but you go through 4 bags of B in the same amount of time as 3 bags of food A, then the one with the higher price per bag may be less expensive.

At any rate, I don't recommend this brand of food.

Thanks Karen! That's why I asked. I wasn't completely sure so I wanted to get your input on it. I looked up reviews and couldn't really find a bad one but That doesn't really mean anything. It did have less calories than the wellness but it didn't look like it was that much less. I think the wellness core was 417 and the 4health puppy was 367. And yes I realize the core is grain free and the 4health isn't but roger really isn't on grain free for anything but my preference lol. The guy at tractor supply was racing about it so I figured I'd ask but I did think it a bit too good to be true with the price ;)
