We're bringing Lucy in tomorrow morning to be fixed. I know it's the best thing for her, and I certainly do not want her to have puppies, but I am a little sad about it. The house will seem so empty tomorrow during the day...and I'm worried about how we're going to contain our little jumper/crazy runner after surgery. My husband thinks I'm worrying for nothing...but she's my little baby.... :(

Any advice from those who have gone through this already?

She probably won't be too jumpy for a few days and you would want her to stay calm. One thing that made me feel better when I took Ginger was to send her blanket with her. They let her keep it in the cage with her and when I went to get her she was laying on it. They said she was relaxed and comfortable the whole time and I like to think it was because she knew I was close because she had something of her own. PS-My DH was the same way and I was worried sick.
Lynne,
Thanks for your recommendation about the blanket. We dropped Lucy off this morning with a blue fleece blanket from her crate. I felt better knowing that she'd be comfortable and surrounded by familiar smells... :)
You're welcome! I don't know if it helped her or not, but it made me feel better all day. And when I went to get her and saw she was snuggled in it, I hope it made her feel better, too. It was easier to pick up wrapped in it, also. Take some deep breaths and enjoy a quiet day. The next couple of days will be spent tending to her. Good Luck and we're with you! Happy Holidays from my pack to yours!
Hi Becky, have you heard yet how everything went? Let us know how Lucy made out.
We just got her home and settled. She's extremely groggy but went potty (outside) and is resting comfortably in her bed. I feel so bad for the little girl. The worst part is she's loopy and won't give kisses ;( It's just so fantastic to have her home though and hopefully tomorrow she'll be feeling better. The house was so empty today!! Thanks for checking up on us!!
I am so glad she's home, too. I am glad things worked out OK. If she can't give you kisses, you give them to her. I hope a peaceful night for you both.
