I was rubbing Grizzy's belly last night and noticed a pea sized lump. It kind of looks like a huge pimple... He has a vet appt. on Monday but I wanted to see if anyone on DK had any idea what it could be. He doesn't scratch or bite at it and it doesn't seem to hurt/bother him if I touch or gently squeeze it.
I took him out to run around in a field about a week ago but other than that he is only outside if he needs to potty.
I'm attaching a couple of photos.

My 6 yo Kona is "lumpalicious". He just had two removed from his tail. So far they have all been sebaceous cysts. It's wise to get it checked out, but try not to worry obsessively over it this weekend. I would bet it is going to be fine. Most of Kona's cysts have not needed to be removed. The ones on his tail were infected. Please keep us updated. You might as well wait to worry until you know if the vet has any concern. (Easier said than done, but try... sorry for you.)
Lol "lumpalicious"! :P This is our first puppy so I am probably overreacting just a little (a lot)... but it's not bothering him so I'm trying not to let it bother me... Thanks for your reply!
Oh, there are much better things to worry yourself sick over. When you take her to the vet have him/her check it out. Some kind of irritation probably. My dogs get these little fatty tumors that are pretty common and I have had some of them removed (depending on the location). The last one (on Groucho) I asked the vet to remove with laser since he (Groucho) does not do well with anesthesia. They lasered it out and no problem at all. He just had a little local. You can see photos on my photo pages (I think page 1 or 2). It doesn't look like a tick, but a good area for one.
He is still playful and happy so I am trying not to worry too much. Thank you for your reply! & glad to see how quickly Groucho healed from the laser!
it looks more like a cyst or a bite that has gotten infected. does it feel solid or fluid filled.
Feels like it is fluid filled. I felt all around his belly and I noticed there are a couple more lumps under the skin that I didn't notice before because they aren't as red and inflamed looking as the one pictured. Ahhh....I CAN'T wait for that appt on Monday!
fluid while it sounds bad is normally a good thing. They may drain it and usually will heal up. I'm sure something just nibbled on his tummy while he was laying in the grass.
Thank you all for your help! I feel much better after reading all of your replies. Never knew how crazy I'd be about this little guy! I will come back and update after his appt tomorrow for anyone who is curious.
Glad he will be okay. Is he on antibiotics?
make sure you start using probiotics and pumpkin or sweet potato if you don't already to keep bowel movements some what normal.
