We're having such a time with a name for our girl! Our other dog is Zoe. We picked Lila, but must be getting OLD...everything BUT Lila came out of our mouths...Zila, Zola, Lola, Lilly, Liza. Hubby and I realized "this isn't going to work!". We're not good at this! We would LOVE suggestions (and do hope to make her a therapy dog.)
Charlotte?
Clara?
Agnes?

I Love Tess, I of course also Love Ellie since I have ONE!!! LOL...So many GOOD Girl names out there. I always feel that classic is the way to go, so you don't tire of it. Piper and Stella are sweet names also. Can't wait to hear what you choose!!
I hoped that our second doodle would become a therapy dog. I searched for a name that had a meaning that would be fun to share with the residents of a facility. We finally settled on Oliver. Oliver means kind and affectionate. The residents seem to enjoy hearing what his name means. It's a conversation starter. Oh, by the way, he does like to give kisses to everyone!!

Here are a few that I had written down for girls.
--Cara--friend/beloved
--Rainey-queen
--Callie--most beautiful
--Annie--grace
--Amy--loved
--Mya--great one
--Belle--beautiful
--Addie --kind/noble
Others I liked just because ----Tessa, Scarlett, Grace, & Faith

Lucy and Annabelle's Mom is right, some residents do have a hard time hearing the dog's name. I'm a tester for TDInc, and when I bring a perspective therapy dog team to visit a facility, I have found that it usually doesn't matter if the dog's name is long or short, the residents still have trouble hearing and saying it. Once you start visiting a facility on a regular basis, they will remember whatever your dog's name is. Therapy dog visits make the day brighter for so many, and you will leave with a "happy" heart!!! Good luck finding the perfect name for your little sweetie!
Kathy I can't believe We BOTH have an Ellie & Oliver!!! Great taste in Names I Must Say!!! Love It~
Great minds think alike!!! I checked your page, and you first added an Ellie and then an Oliver to your family just like we did. What a coincidence!!! Our Ellie will be 10 in August, and Oliver will be 6 in July. Enjoy your sweeties because the time flies by.
I know Kathy, can't believe Ellie is "2" already. We had so many Boy names and I kept coming back to Oliver. Thought we would end up shortening it, but just felt he was an Oliver when we saw him!!! LOVE Both names!!!! Such a Coincidence!!

How about Lucy or Sunny ?  Older people would remember Lucille Ball & could relate to that name well...Sunny (happy) would be easy too :)

I though "Leah" since Zoe is a short name, I though of a short name. Also you had a lot of "L" names... so, Leah it is... :-)

The first name that came to mind was Venus.

Thanks so much all! This is more fun with other doodle lovers involved! I am looking forward to getting to "know" more of you as __________ and I continue with our doodle relationship. : )

We took her out tonight and EVERYONE asked her name...of course they had suggestions galore...Penelope, Petunia, Molly, Cocoa, Ava, Annabelle, to remember a few.

Hula is on my list for a girl dog. Lilly is a wonderful name and since you use it by mistake, how about choosing that or one of your other mistake names? They are all great.

I have a 4-year-old niece named Lilly, so that wouldn't win me any family points. : (

But I love it!

All nice names.  At this stage of my life, I always say the wrong name at least once, sometimes starting with my first dog, going to my husband and or son and then finally to Quincy.  The best is when I call him Morgan (first dog) and don't even realize it!

Good luck with your new puppy name and have fun!
