Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I'm looking for a male standard or medium Goldendoodle, 4 years or younger; I would prefer an F1. I live in Colorado Springs, CO but could possibly make arrangements to get a dood from another state. I currently have a one year old female medium Goldendoodle. She needs a brother! I'd prefer a Goldendoodle on the calm side requiring moderate exercise (1-2 hrs a day + an evening walk).
I would provide a great home and have many references. If anyone hears of a re-home or rescue like this please let me know. I'm keeping an eye on most of the rescue sites as well.
Thank you!

Hope you find what you are looking for. It's really rare to find a doodle in a rescue in Colorado. I tried to look when we decided to get a doodle. I'm in Denver. I will let you know if I hear anything. Good luck in your search.
Yes, I've noticed most doodles seem to be near the coasts. But I'm not totally opposed to another type of dog. I'm looking around in quite a few places. Hopefully I'll know the right dog when I see him (or hear about him).
Cindy, have you placed applications with any of the doodle rescue organizations? www.doodlerescue.org
Thank you Adina, I had looked at the sites but not put in applications. I hadn't realized I could do that. The first link doesn't work, but I should be able to find it myself. Thanks again! Cindy
oops it should be www.doodlerescue.org
fixed it above.
would you ever consider being a foster home for either organization? That might be a good way to help and find the 'right doodle' brother.

Cindy,
When you are on the DRC website http://doodlerescue.org/ or idog.biz or whatever place you are comfortable working with, you may want to consider signing up to be a foster.
Right now, there are so many doodles in kill shelters who need just a few weeks to buy them time until someone like you, who is looking, can adopt them. California has too many!!!!! Maybe one there can be transported to you in Colorado?
Sometimes, many times, you find a foster who you just could never live without. You adopt! Or, you provide a wonderful home to someone who wants to adopt. They are just like you~ looking.
It is a way to find another forever dog who fits your home and who fits being sibling for your dog... and you save a life too!
Think about it
Plus, you get to see what life with two dogs is really like, and how your dog really likes sharing her home, her belongings and her person on a daily basis.
Exactly Karen. Often times, a dog is fine with you for a few days, then the truth comes out. Your pup does not like the pup, or the dog does not fit your family, but it will another family.
Then, one day, a foster just fits perfect. It is an idea.
Thank you Joanne and Karen, fostering is a great idea. Colorado has very few Goldendoodles "floating around" and getting a dog from either coast is a bit expensive to foster. But I'll sign up and see where that leads. Excellent suggestion!
Cindy
Thank you again Joanne! I'll definitely look into it. Cindy
