Snow on Memorial Day weekend?? That's just crazy, Sheila!  Thanks for the reminder to "paws" and remember those who died fighting for our great country!  Hope you have a good weekend!

SNOW???? Bummer.  Our Veteran's Day weather will be in the high 70's  We will be riding our motorcycle in a nation-wide parade called Rolling Thunder.  The purpose is to recognize the sacrifices made by U.S. veterans/soldiers and raise awareness of those missing in action or held as prisoners of war. Our parade in southern California, called West Coast Thunder, will have more than 7,000 bikes (the largest single day motorcycle event west of the Mississippe).  Proceeds from WCT  will help support the Riverside National Cemetery.  It is an honor for us to be one of the riders.

7,000 bikes!  WOW!!!  I was leaving the Post Office one Saturday before Memorial Day when Rolling Thunder came through my small town.  Thunder is an understatement.  The Post Mistress and I stood silently as all the bikes went by.  A good cause.

It is pretty amazing. I feel weird because people watching us go by wave like we are celebrities when really we are all just regular people honoring our true American heroes.  It is very moving though, to be part of something 'big' and meaningful.

Happy Memorial Day! Sorry about the snow, but I bet finnley will love it! It's uncharacteristicaly cold here in VA for this holiday...highs of 60 and waaayyy to cold for the pool to open! Strawberry picking is on tap for us, instead.

Raining and chilly on Long Island for Memorial weekend.  Monday is supposed to be the best day.  I wanted to take the new short hair Quincy for a swim, but I think the only wet will be from the rain!
