Surprise!

We will be bringing home our first puppy, a black and white F1B Goldendoodle, in two weeks. We have decided to keep it a secret from our kids so we can surprise hem. Do any of you have any fun stories of how you managed to surprise loved ones/family members with a doodle?

How did I miss this until today?  So sweet.  Love every moment as they grow up together!

We just surprised our kids 3 weeks ago with a goldendoodle puppy.  They had absolutely no idea.  We lost our family dog of 17 years about a month prior to getting the puppy.  We set it up so she was a geocache.  The boys were out geocaching with their dad, and I had Millie hidden under a bridge.  We set the private geocache up so it led them right to her.  I had made a note to attach to her collar which read:

Roses Are Red

Violets are Blue

I'm the 'cache' of the century,

And was put here for you!

(then the note said much more - my 10 year old teared up when he read it)

HOWEVER, I had so much to remember I forgot to attach the note to her!  :(  I'm still so mad at myself.  So they "found" her, and were wondering why this poor puppy was under the bridge.  My son then spotted me as I was going to try to  sneak out to plant the note anyway.  I was with our puppy, and just hid around the corner when I seen them coming.  Oh well.  They were elated.  Kept saying it was like a "dream", and they couldn't believe it.
