biting tail hair and eating it!

Help!! I have an 8 month old Goldendoodle and he has started to pull and chew his tail hair. Has anyone else ran into this issue?

Our puppy chases her own tail and when she finally gets it she munches on her tail a bit.. I've never noticed her pulling out the hair though, but she definitely chews on it!

Have you talked to your vet about allergies? My lab would chew on his feet due to allergies. I'm not sure if they would chew on their tail & pull hair out for the same reason though.
