This is my first doodle and I have no idea when to get him his first haircut? He is starting to grow quite a few stray hairs around his eyes and I don't want him to not be able to see! My cocker spaniel has to be cut at least every six weeks but maybe its different for doodles? He still has a couple weeks before he gets his last round of shots so we won't be doing anything until after that but I was curious when y'all first cut yours?

I think Sophie went at 3 months but only needed a bath and a brush out. It is amazing how much a professional brushing alleviates the need to be trimmed. They can always just do a clean up around the eyes and a sanitary trim.

Winston just got his first one at 8 1/2 months. Before that we just bathed him at self serve dog washes and brushed him ourself. As you can see he really needed a haircut lol

Bahahaha!  That's hilarious!  I think you are right, he might have needed a haircut.  :)

I think Dawson got his first "clean up" around the 8-10 month range, He was starting to look like a bear. Wow! Winston has a nice coat going on..... lol!

Haha he sure did! I knew it was time for him to go in when people started coming up to me saying "Oh how cute, is that an English sheepdog puppy?". Lol!

Thanks guys, this helps!  I'm hoping Finley is going to be a bit less maintence with the haircuts than my cocker spaniel!
