So we had Zoey at the cabin on the lake and when we got home I noticed her tummy (skin area) is broken out in nasty red lumps.  I bathed her with cold water and oatmeal shampoo.  Last time she had this we had her at the vet and he had to give her a shot that took 3 days to clear.  I think she is allergic to something outside.  I started wiping her tummy with witch hazel 3 times a day (morning, noon, night) and just over night they almost completely vanished.  She seems to like it too because when I sit on the floor she comes over and rolls over for me.  Anybody have any other secret recipes for dogs with allergies?  I'm doing my best to try not to medicate her because she is so young I want her body to develop it's natural defenses..  I also pulled a tick off of my other doodle Max and he always gets welts from them that crust over so I just swabbed his ear with it too and it cleared it right up.

Clancy has had those red spots on his tummy.  My understanding is that they begin as allergy and then go to infection.  If you stopped it at the allergy level before the infection level, good for you.
