Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We have discussed this topic (seatbelts) many many times here. Just like Invisible fences, we have people that come in on both sides of the discussion. Some don't believe that seatbelts are required and some won't leave home without them. I still want to believe, regardless of what these tests show, that My girls are safer in my vehicle being buckled in. Even if I just have to slam on the breaks, maybe I'm not in a full blown accident, I think they are safer than if they were lose. I also think that it is safer in that when I open the door they cannot just bolt out if they say, see a squirrel. They get out when I say they get out. I could be wrong, but I feel better when they are buckled in. Also if I am in an accident and the windows are blown out they cannot get out of the vehicle until help arrives. Thanks for the article though. One of these days we are going to see one that shows a harness that passes the inspection. These tests keep the topic alive and as long as it is out there someone is going to develop one that passes the standards. (fingers crossed)
I feel the same way, Sherri. I wish the available seat belts were safer, but it has to be better than nothing at all. We had a stop short when he had his harness and he still fell off the seat onto the floor, but did not come flying over the back seat. I was thinking that a clip to both seat belts on either side would be safer. anyone ever try that?
This sounds like the same article that we keep discussing but the date on the article is 6/21/13. Are they recycling the same material? I didn't see anything new in this one.
I'm still on the side of believing that Goldie is much safer in what I have her hooked up. I did a lot of research before landing on the one that I got. I watched several crash tests with it and I feel comfortable with it.
100% fail rate is hard to really analyze when you don't know exactly what was tested. If 4 out of 4 failed- what were the 4? And would 100 out of 100 fail if 100 were tested?
