San Francisco: Poisonous meatballs found after dog falls ill.
San Francisco police are warning pet owners in the Twin Peaks and Diamond Heights neighborhoods to keep an eye out for poisoned meatballs after a dog was seriously sickened by one this week.
The dog became ill Wednesday shortly after its morning walk, during which it found and ate a cooked meatball. The owner took the dog to a veterinarian and the animal is recovering. ... The owner, along with several neighbors, later scoured the area around Crestline Drive and Burnett Avenue and found other cooked meatballs, police said. The meatballs are believed to contain some kind of poison and are being tested.
Anyone with information about the meatballs can contact police at an anonymous tip line, (415) 575-4444. People who find a meatball in the street should call police and use gloves before handling the food.
Please share with friends in the San Francisco area and protect the dogs!

Evil lurks : (

OMGosh how can anyone be so cruel!

Too bad these people have nothing better to do with themselves. But then, given their idea of fun, it's no surprise that they have no life.

Good grief--but thanks for posting.

I hope they find the person who is doing this.

This just plain stinks.  I hope whoever is doing this accidentally rubs their face or licks their fingers, after handling the poison!

To purposely (that's what it sounds like to me) put out poison laced food knowing what will happen is just - SICK!!! I hope they catch the (bleep's) and offer them a meetball sandwich or spaghetti with meetballs!
Many thanks for posting this and giving a "heads up" A good time to be thinking about that training phrase "leave it" while I am walking my dog.

just awful.

People are sick...
