Hey guys,

I've noticed there are plenty of topics on itching but i couldn't find one that pertained to our specific situation.  Last week, I gave Maddy a bath and I fear that maybe i didn't rinse her very well.  She had no itchies previous to the bath, and has had plenty since.  I'm not sure how I can remedy this situation - ideally i would like to do this naturally without "medicine" I already give her fish oil every day and I put coconut oil on her liver everyday......help - im out of ideas. Thanks doodle experts

I guess a good thing would be to rinse her off very well now and find a different shampoo. You can dilute the shampoo next time and that might make it easier to rinse. I use Douxo Clam shampoo which is formulated for itchy dogs and that might help for future reference. Should dogs be getting Liver everyday. My two get bits of liver treats but that's less than a bite.

oh yeah, shes great with it, I've been feeding her this way for over a year now, the A in liver is only a problem if you dont get enough D.  Maddy gets D in her fish oil and we walk every day out in the natural D (sun)hehe she gets a chicken thigh and liver and usually sweet potato/spinach/broccoli she has been very happy since the switch of the food

oh, so i should try giving her some tub time, just getting her wet again and that could help?

Worth a try since perhaps the left on shampoo might be the problem.

mmmk i just gave her some tub time, so lets see if that helps at all

I second the Douxo calm, that's what I use on JD, it was recommended to me by his dermatologist. Be sure that you leave the lather on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

i just realized that one sentence doesnt read right, she eats liver and i put coconut oil on it sheesh typing....

I never imagined you put coconut oil on Maddy's own liver : )

well thats good, it just read funny to me :) now im really laughing

bahaha F.

No suggestions, Sorry for the itchies, Maddy.

Make sure you don't use any leave-in products like conditioners or sprays, as well. And use a cool dryer setting or let her air dry, no hot dryers.

ok - i didnt use any of that stuff, i think i might get a hair dryer just for Moo, she always seemed to enjoy it but great point - only cool, not hot will do
