This is sad! This doodle is beautiful. What did the letter say that was sent to the owner? Just curious...

It's a letter that is sent by the Doodle Rescue Collective explaining the dangers of giving a dog away "free to good home" and of rehoming a dog on CL in general. It also explains rescue options, and gives some advice on how to screen adoptive homes if the person does not want to rehome through a legitimate rescue.

Thanks for the information, Karen. I was curious and hopeful that maybe the letter was asking the owner to contact someone here so that a person with doodle love and knowledge could help place this doodle.

Kary, the letter gives the contact info for executive director of the DRC, lol. Can't get a preson with much more doodle love and knowledge than that, and she also happens to be a member here on DK, as are most of the DRC volunteers. Placing doodles is what we do. Are you not familiar with the DRC?

Awwww that's only about an hour or so away from me. I'm just tempted to get him and keep him with me until DRC can intervene.
