We just moved into a new place, and weren't sure how the girls would act when we left them to run to the grocery store. So we set up a facetime call, and then walked outside to watch them for a few minutes before we actually took off. Annie was in her crate and was being pretty good, just a few whimpers immediately and then quieted down. Our other dog walked around for about 5 minutes before settling down on the bed.
Jen this made me laugh. I bet that many of us have "stalker" doodles. Sadie once fell asleep staring at me--I wish I had gotten it on video. She was trying so hard to stay awake so that she could keep watching me!
Madiba does this too. I crated her once when she was absolutely exhausted from a long run. I was laying next to her crate until she quieted down. She absolutely could not keep her eyes open but every time her head hit the ground she would wake herself up so she could stare at me.
Your Aussiedoodle is so adorable; love those eyes! Our Cydney is four years old now, and she was just like this as a puppy. She followed us or the other dog, and she would mirror our other dog's actions. She was a real pain at night; we would have to get up with her because she would bark. Cydney is very affectionate, but not a lap dog.
Rebecca, we live in Sterling. We have yet to meet another Aussiedoodle owner in the area, however. If you would like to exchange notes, please don't hesitate to email me. Jeanne
