So Quincy has twice come in COVERED in tiny green burrs that takes us a very long time to comb out!  Today we bribed him with an ice cream container with just a bit on the bottom to keep him occupied while we combed him out.  I can't find the source!  I suspect its the deeper woods up the hill.  Oh well, at least he gets a thorough combing and the DH helps!

My doodle, Sheeba gets these on her every summer. I have her shaved down during the summer months, which helps greatly!

DH let him out last night and he came back covered AGAIN.  I have to find this monster!!!

Vern had this happen twice yesterday. I hate those darn green things. Here is the only help I can give you and it is not much....when I called my DH and told him he had to find the culprit in our yard, he said it is a bush. Big help, huh?? I feel your pain.

I don't think it's a bush. Let John prove it with his camera.

Do I dare tell him you have challenged him? LOL

Absolutely. I have found my TGBs and they are a weed and definitely not a bush--see below.

My mid day walker just texted me that he is covered in them AGAIN...I am beside myself with these stupid things.  I am sitting in the Family Room for HSS waiting for my husband to get out of surgery searching google for more pictures of these danged things!  at least it is keeping me occupied.

Lori ~ I wish your husband a very speedy recovery.

thanks.  he is getting a "new shoulder"

I am sorry to hear of your husband's surgery and I wish him a speedy recovery. I hope I have solved your burr problem for I think I have solved mine. This plant can be a least a couple of feet tall and the flowers are tiny white innocuous things. But this time I have a trail of forensic evidence. They were out in plain view not in the woodsy areas so I suspect they like sun. Sadly I was so intent in pulling them I got no pictures in situ. I got a couple of armloads of them which led to a garden shirt covered in burrs. I am going to out a link to this discussion in our Garden Group since this problem has bugged me for years.

The plants

My shirt

The flowers

What I picked from my shirt, the tape did not do the job.

Yahoo!  I cannot wait until tomorrow morning when I plan on going on the hunt!  I will be sure to be covered up with old clothes!  maybe I can snag some paper scrubs here (JK) He is out of OR and I get to see him in RR in another hour.  Thanks so much for tracking this little plant devil down!  My DH will be happy too.

Happy Hunting and I am glad your DH is in RR : )
