Has anyone gave their doodle a full scissor-cut?  I love the longer hair, and would prefer to not have it shaved.  I don't think anyone around here does scissor cuts.  Is it unreasonable for someone inexperienced to even give it a try?

I'm having thoughts of learning how to groom Millie myself as well, and am wondering what all would I need?  I know a high velocity dryer, clippers, and a table (if I had to clip).  But what about just trying a scissor-cut?  I'm guessing it to be very time-consuming and difficult?

Thank you!

All I do is scissor cut Luna since she mostly has a short coat and I only have to trim her chest, stomach, bum and tail.

After washing/brushing I use a pair of curved scissors to do the initial blunt cut then I go over everything with thinning shears to give it a more "natural" look.

If you do the length with the regular scissors it's a lot easier and less time-consuming!

Have you tried using blenders instead of thinners? The ones I just posted a picture of are amazing. They give a perfectly natural look with only a couple snips which is way easier than straight or curved shears followed up with thinners.

Nope I haven't!  Luna's coat is really straight so maybe it's a bit different with her, but I've never had a problem with the thinning shears.  I just use the shears in the direction of hair growth and hack away :p

Maybe I missed it but what brand and where did you purchase your pink blenders?
