My DH is still restless at night, recuperating with his new bionic shoulder, and it's not unusual for him to get up in the middle of the night. Last night, no different, and he went downstairs for a fresh ice pack. But then when I then got up I knew I smelled something not pleasant in the hallway-but could not locate anything upstairs. More restlessness and then I heard Quincy go down the hall stairs--very unusual so I followed him. He went bounding off when I opened the door to the yard. And there, by the door, on his bed was a nice big mess...poor baby had diarrhea. Now the thing is, my DH was DOWNSTAIRS to get the ice pack, 10 feet from that bed and yet came back up and never smelled it? Amazes me.
Quincy also tossed his cookies this morning so we are holding off feeding him. Can't imagine what he got into. Keep your fingers crossed he has passed it all out. The laundry room is humming this morning!

No matter what......the Hubs is gonna tell you it wasn't there when he went down last night so how could he clean a mess that hadn't been left yet. Lori, you're so silly!
I guess we have to give your DH a pass this time...after all, he is recovering from surgery. :)
I hope Quincy's tummy settles down and you don't have any more "surprises".
Poor Quincy! And men never smell things like this......so they don't have to clean it.
Got my fingers crossed for Quincy, get better buddy!
I was wondering yesterday, how your DH's shoulder was doing - sorry to hear he's still so uncomfortable. I don't know how anyone could miss those smells though!
Sure do hope Quincy is feeling better very soon!!!
I'm sorry to hear Quincy isn't feeling well. I'm sorry you had to clean up the mess. But as far as DH is concerned, all I can say is they are inexplicable.
Hope Quincy is better. We started putting a baby gate in our bedroom door after Auggie was "big" enough to sleep out of the crate and upstairs with us. The reason was that one night we woke up to a strange smell.... went downstairs to find diarrhea and pee everywhere on our dining room carpet. The poor boy probably went downstairs in the middle of the night and actually rang the backdoor bell, but nobody heard him.
Men avoid smells like that because it might mean work to do:) At least my DH is that way! LOL Hope Quincy is better and no more accidents! Poor baby, they feel bad when that happens too:(
I think Quincy did feel bad. My DH is not the kind of guy who would purposely igore-he just has not damn sense of smell- I think--or maybe that is why we are happily married for so long! With his shoulder, it was my clean up anyway...but honestly, he is so germ phobic, I don't think he purposely ignored it...guess I will never really know though, Right?
Anyway, I tossed the bed out the door at 2am or whaterver time it was, then at a more decent hour, cleaned it up inside some plastic bags, the took the rugs to the washer, Several hours and stinky ones later, he found the bag and took it to the trash...so all is forgiven.
My goodness, where in the entire world else could I post such a long drawn out whatever about POOP!
thank you guys for putting up with me!
