We definitely stick with grain-free everything (treats, and food). The pumpkin puree is canned pumpkin, not pie filling! :)

I will try the yogurt idea and look into the probiotics. Are the probiotics just a temporary thing? How long should we use them?

Use them at least until his stool is consistently well-formed for at least two weeks. 

It really is necessary to get some good flora back into his gut now, or you are going to continue to have digestive issues indefinitely. That's why you really need the probiotics. The good bacteria is necessary for normal digestion.

oh no.  I researched and found Natural Balance Limited Ingredient chicken and sweet potato for dogs with sensitive stomachs. We just started our doodle on it and she's doing well.  What's wrong with this line?

I'm glad. I know it's hard to ask you to trust me on this one, even though it goes against your vet's advice, but I probably have a lot more knowledge and experience with this particular issue than he/she does, strange as that may sound. :)

Try the probiotics and see. You can always switch foods later.

Ok-- So, I'm beginning to think that Sammy may actually have a food allergy. He's got red bumps all over his belly and no sign of fleas. Now that I added the yogurt, I'm not sure if it's the dairy that's bugging him, or if it is indeed the chicken. He's always been a little on the itchy side and the runny poops (as I mentioned before) have been somewhat of an issue from the start (and we've always fed him chicken). 

Help!!??
