Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi Everyone,
Our puppy is just 9 weeks old. We are looking for healthy alternatives other than organic natural peanut butter to stuff in her KONG that won't upset a new puppy's tummy...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Such great suggestions Julie...I appreciate you taking the time to help me...very much appreciated!
Congrats on your new pup!
I have two sizes of Kong - the small one is her regular 'desert' one, every day and the bigger one is for when I need to distract, calm, or occupy....
I freeze all these also and have found so many ideas!
Frozen blueberries in first, then add a spoon or two of organic Greek yogurt - nonfat. The blueberries can be switched out for apple chunks, kibble, dried yam bits, or whatever (to keep the stuff from leaking out + she loves getting to the end.
Bits of apple usually go into the larger one now that she is fully grown, but a small one ok too and if you add a smidge of peanut butter in middle it's fun.
Bits of dried yam, add organic applesauce .
Make a parfait - layer in whatever you like - - yes, soaked kibble works also -
I have a particular bowl that I use, it holds 3 small Kongs upright for freezing - - so we have a game of sorts. She has to retrieve her Kongs, bring them to me in kitchen, then she gets to watch me do all the washing and fixing. It seems to amuse her and she looks forward to having her 'popsicles'.
We also use frozen organic green beans - she likes them frozen - stuff some into yogurt or other filler - - but the can be cooked, pureed, and yep - frozen again into Kong filler.
I have discovered that we have to keep peanut butter to small amounts - not to use it in the large Kong unless near larger opening as she gets a bit frustrated with not quite being able to get to all of it.
Sally you have been most helpful...what great suggestions...I am just thrilled with all the ideas I have been presented with...thank you very much!
This was a great question and I have picked up so many good ideas. I have never frozen the Kong-but I am going to start!
Thanks Lori...everyone has been so helpful!
