Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I am the proud owner of a 7.5 week old double doodle puppy... and he looks VERY lab like. Everyone who sees us, asks me if he is lab. He seems to shed a little when I pet him (notice it on my black yoga pants, and shirts and such if I cuddle him but not so much on my furniture and around the house).
Just wanted to share some pics and see if anyone has a doodle that looked like him when it was a pup. I have heard that the doodles coat can change several times... but how much of a change? I am not getting rid of bug, I am totally in love with him... but just wondering what people think... thanks guys :)

When both parents are F1s (in Bug's case, an F1 goldendoodle bred to an F1 labradoodle), the chances are good that the puppies will be very retrieverish in appearance. Bug has what is known as an open face, meaning he did not inherit the gene for the facial furnishings- the beard, moustache, and shaggy eye-brows- that are typical in most doodles. That won't change. His coat may get longer, thicker, and possibly a little wavier, especially his ears and his legs, but I don't think it's going to be a radical change. He's definitely going to shed.
He's very cute.
Thanks... I think he is adorable :o) ... I don't mind that he doesn't have the facial furnishings... It's funny to see how different he looks from the other pups in his litter... they all look so different from each other.... his ears were wavier when he was itty bitty... I was afraid he'd shed... hopefully my boyfriend's daughter doesn't have a bad asthma reaction... she is ok with his Chocolate Lab, so I thinks he will be fine... thanks for your response... your pup is a cutie too!
LOL, my pup is almost 9 years old! And he sheds like a purebred lab, even though he has a long coat and all of his "furnishings". You just never know with mixed breed dogs.
The unknown amazes me... especially the more I read about the discoveries other people have had with their dogs... lol I call all dogs puppies... even if they are old and gray... lol :o)
Lolli looked just like a lab puppy, no facial hair, no wisps on the legs like your beautiful pup, nothing. She looked like a yellow lab. Now she doesn't look like most doodles, but she is a beauty!
Eleven weeks:
Her hair is getting longer every day. Not so curly, and she sheds like a beast, but she is furrier and furrier every time we look at her.
Lolli's coat & coloring is very much like Jackdoodle's! I love it!
You can have a look at my photos. My F1 golden doodle is about 3.5 mths old and has a lot of growing and changes to still be had, but started very short straight haired like bug. Now he is getting very whispy sprigs all over the place.
