Choosing our doodle today!!

Appointment later this afternoon to meet our doodle baby boy!! So excited! The breeder has three little boys for us to choose from. Two are from the same litter. They are f1b babies. Their dad is poodle with mom being an f1b. Our other option is a little boy whose mom is an f2 and dad is can f1-what does that make him?!? They all three beautiful. The f1b puppies seem to have a slightly wavier coat... advice on choosing? Opinions?

The chances of shedding are MUCH greater with the puppy from the F2-F1 parents. Heavy retriever genes on both sides.

My first advice is go with your heart.  Historically speaking, it's usually the middle of the road pups that have the best temperaments.  Not too outgoing and not too shy(the one hiding in the corner.  Good Luck!  Please let us know the outcome.

Let a pup choose you.  They sometimes do that.  Come right up to you and curl up in your lap.  Okay, that is the one.

Our baby boy is in my avatar. We chose one of the baby's whose mom is an f1b and dad is a poodle. His brother was SUPER curly. Breeder thought he (the brother) would have more of a poodle-like coat. I wasn't sure that I wanted that much curl. The other pup was much larger (8 1/2 weeks) and his coat was a lot straighter and lighter. He was ready to go home today and my husband wanted to take him for that reason however I was drawn to "Carson" as the breeder calls him. Plenty of curl but not to much. He looks darker in person and he is adorable! He is just over 6 weeks. Can't wait to watch him grow into big boy! Toying with the name Scout. We get to bring him home in 2 weeks!!!
