Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I was just doing some online banking and noticed Pet Plan is helping themselves to almost $50.00 a month for just Jack's health care... That is really high for me and they didn't even send me a notice saying the prices were going up.

Of course I can't drop them but I may have to go down from Gold to Silver either that or drop some other house hold bill somehow...

He is only four and half..... what the heck?  I can't go with anyone else because of his cortisol issue and I wouldn't drop his insurance no matter what I had to do.

Anyone else get a recent hike?

Christine recently posted a discussion on this: http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/petplan-rates-are-outrageo...

Jennifer,  Camus is not yet 4 and I have the Petplan silver plan with a $200 deductible (per incident) and pay ~ $28 per month.  I went online and did not find anything cheaper.  I spoke with a rep and she told me the same thing they said last year; plan is based on age, location (zip code), and vet prices.  I've decided to stay with Petplan for now. If prices continue going up I'll have to raise the deductible and only count on the insurance for major issues.  You would save money by going to the sliver plan.

Thanks Karen I missed that discussion......Christine.....I don't know what to do...I always get the premium back because when I am in the hospital they pay up to $500.00 each year per pet for someone to take care of them.....

I think you still get that with the silver plan as well.....the thing is $200.00 deductible is steep for me and most normal issues I submit for Jck are around $100.00 for ear infections and stuff like that....but man I am grateful the dogs are insured but that is a lot to swallow.....our deductible right now is the lowest one....I may need to up it.... $28.00 a month is what we started out with when Jack was a puppy..

Molly's went up to to $35.00 she is two.... I know it's worth it...I just have to redo my budget or possibly downsize my plan somewhat.

I decided that to keep the insurance, because if something serious happened at least I know Camus is covered.

I will never drop it ever...I just have to redo my budget and find more room...I can do it...where there is a will there is a way...most of the time...

I have been keeping track of our premiums since 2009. Here is my discussion.

Thanks Laurie,  If there is a bikini discount I would not qualify, but I am going to check on the enrolling online and Doodle Kisses discounts.

Please post when you find out about the Doodle Kisses discount, one way or another.  Thx!

We have had no claims, and Buddy at 8yo and Kona at 6yo are both $28.50 each on the Silver with a $200.00 deductible.  Do they charge more when you claim more?  Just wondering....

What percentage do you have with them?  20? or 10? or 0?  Thanks.  Just comparing yours to mine.  I have 7 yo on the Bronze with $200 deductible and 10%.  I am thinking about changing to the silver.  Thanks!
