Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Chloe is 4 months old now and she has really been doing well with potty training. She has been doing so well that I have given her some more freedom in the house. This morning I found pee in my dining room. It's at the front of my house and I only go in there around once a day. The pee must have been from last night. Besides the fact that having pee sit on my floor overnight is really yucky, I have another problem.
It seems to have seeped into floor and has stained it. Does anyone have suggestions for how to get the stain out?
Any advice would be welcomed!!!!

You absolutely must use a product made to get the entire odor out...Nature's Miracle will do the trick!! It is available at any pet store. If you do not use a product like this, a dog will still be able to detect the smell and will return to the spot. The instructions tell you to clean up the pee and then completely saturate the area and leave it to air dry. In the case of wood floors...this means you must put enough of the product on the spot so it will seep into the cracks as well...so it can eliminate the odor there too. Otherwise the dog will still smell it. I know this is not good for the wood floor so......if you don't do it, just make sure your pup can't get in that room until she is grown and positively house broken and reliable.
As far as getting a stain out of wood.....???.....sorry, don't know. Hope somebody can help!
Your puppy is adorable!
Thanks everyone. I ran out of nature's miracle but I had the Life's Advantage floor cleaner. I hope that got rid of the smell. I really can't imagine sanding my floor now, but hopefully it will fade away. At least I hope.
There are furniture 'stain' products for scratches and they work wonders. I would try it on a wood floor. I have used mayonnaise on my wood furniture when someone has set a glass and left a stain. (I smear it on and leave it for hours and then wipe and clean the wood). It has always been pretty successful.
I keep a bag of Nature's Miracle cat litter on hand - haven't used in months, but it works very well. Soaks up moisture - deodorizes - but the acidity of urine ruining hardwood floor means the floor needs a touch up. I'd go with a rug until dog is 100%.
