Hi Meg!

How much does he weigh now? It's really hard to find any calculators. General guidelines I've found say triple the weight at 12 weeks. I think more accurate is double the weight at 16 weeks and add 10 lbs and he/she should fall within that 10 lb range.

Bob's mom was a 35 lb golden and his dad was a 45 lb poodle (he was only a year - I think he was more like 55 lbs). I think he will end up around 60 lbs.

Here is what his weight progress has been:

8 wks - 10 lbs

10 wks - 15 lbs

12 wks - 20 lbs

14 wks - 25 lbs

16 wks - 30 lbs

my trainer and vet said take their weight at 4 mths and double that. my doodle was supposed to be between 25-30 pds. uh... no, at 3 mths he weighed 15 pds, at 5 mths he is now 30 pds. he should top out at between 45-50 pds. I hope that helps.

i am not sure how much he weighs now. he goes to the vet next week. but at 8 weeks he was 9 lbs 13 oz. the breeder said that the puppies from that litter will be anywhere from 65-75 lbs. i never did get the weight of the parents. but he was the small one in the litter. this information is helpful, thank you.

On goldendoodles.com there is a growth chart (unofficial) that says:

2 x puppy's weight at 4 months and add up to 10 pounds

Those formulas are more true for pure bred dogs. You really have to go by the parents' weights. If you're mixing two breeds, the puppies can pick up the characteristics (including weight from either parent). That's why some look more like the Golden or Lab, and some look more like the poodle. Same with weight. There's also a difference between big dogs and small dogs in terms of when they stop (or really slow down) growing. The small ones stop growing much sooner.

My dog is an ALD (Australian Labradoodle) which you'd think might be more predictable given the multi-generational thing, but my vet still said to go by the parents. In our case, Josie was about 9 pounds at 16 weeks. By the formula, she'd be about 28 pounds at full growth, but she's more likely to be about 15 pounds or a little less. Her mom is 12 pounds and Dad is 22 pounds. She's already slowed way down at almost 6 months and will unlikely grow more in height and probably put on a few more pounds. She's now about 11 ish.

Bottom line - we are all curious, but there's no good science to this, and I've read through lots of threads here on this.

I've charted my GD on puppychart.com and have documented her weights and their estimates and they vary between 38 and 40, and she was supposed around 40. You don't have to put breed in either, just skip that step and make sure you change the kg to lb. There is a whole thread just on weight updates. Hadley's parents were 32 and 35 lbs. At 6 months she is 32 lbs, and for the last few weeks her weight hasn't changed much, I am thinking the growth is slowing, but expect her to level out around 38-40. PCE= Puppy Chart Estimate.

9 weeks 11.4 lbs PCE 38.4 lbs
13 weeks 18.3 lbs PCE 40.4 lbs
14 weeks 19.4 lbs PCE 39.1 lbs
15 weeks 20.8 lbs PCE 39.5 lbs
16 weeks 22.2 lbs PCE 39.0 lbs
17 weeks 23.4 lbs PCE 39.1 lbs
18 weeks 25.2 lbs PCE 40.1 lbs
19 weeks 26.4 lbs PCE 40.0 lbs
20 weeks 28.4 lbs PCE 41.5 lbs (growth spurt, she had been up at night wanting to eat)
21 weeks 29.2 lbs PCE 40.7 lbs
22 weeks 29.2 lbs PCE 39.2 lbs
23.5 weeks 31.4 lbs PCE 40.5 lbs
25 weeks 31.4 lbs PCE 38.9 lbs.

My Luna is a F1 goldendoodle - she will be 10 months old on Oct 6th - she is currently 45lbs.

We got her at 10 weeks - she was 13lbs
