Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello there! I am getting my 7 month old labradoodle in a couple of weeks and am stuck on what kind of dishes would be best for her to eat out of. i've heard alot of people telling me to get some dishes that are raised up because they say its better for them to digest and they won't strain. My doodle -Charly is a medium doodle. If anyone has any suggestions i would truly appreciate it. Thank You!!

We use the raise bowls and it really helps to reduce those lovely burps alot!!!
hmmm interesting... i didn't think about burps! lol thank you!
In addition to stopping the spilling problem (we forever had visitors not notice the bowls on the floor and accidently bump them with their feet), it's easier if you have any back or knee problems not having to bend down so far, lol!
We use stainless bowls and ceramic/glass plates. Believe it or not a couple of our doodles prefer eating their food off a plate as opposed to a bowl. Weird I know, given the choice between a bowl and a plate directly next to it they choose the plate AND will wait for the plate to be filled and ignore the bowl. Always something!
We started Oski off with metal bowls just set down on the ground. He's on the taller side for a doodle (24 1/2- 25 inches at the shoulder) & was starting to have to almost lie down to eat so switched him to a raised bowl. He's a very slow eater so I suspect that he will be low risk for developing bloat but that's good to know. I'm sort of a modern design nerd, so we got him a bowl from Vurv which is a design company in Canada. The nice thing is that they come in multiple different heights depending on how tall your dog is. If they're really big eaters you can also get the option with 3 two quart bowls.

I want this one!! I have seen on the net but could not find it again...Thank you for the link.
I use stainless steel.
I also used the stainless steel bowls that are raised up.
Ollie has a heavy, ceramic bowl for his water as he likes to use it as a bath/water playground occasionally....... lol.... It doesn't tip over which is always handy!!!
We use plain 'ol stainless steel bowls. They sell bowls for long eared dogs but, I keep Max's ears short so, we don't have the problem of them getting wet/dirty.
