We had one for Oliver from Day 1. It's his favorite toy and he carries it everywhere, attacks it, chews on it, and 2.5 months later is only a little dirty. When he's in his crate he snuggles up to it and uses it as a pillow. We only used the heartbeat for the first few weeks and it definitely comforted him at night For us it was worth the $40 (especially since it's been so durable).
OMD how cute, it's these adorable pictures that make me wanna get one in hopes she will be this cute with it! LOL:)
I got online and saw a DIY on making your own snuggle puppy, Petsmart has these large stuffed dogs that are fuzzy and sweet looking and I figured I could cut it open and put a hand warmer in there or something. I have to figure it out but I am pretty crafty. Or, I'll just use one of my t-shirts or this big stuffed horse we have that was jaces. who knows!
We made the mistake of leaving Snuggle Puppy in the crate with Cisco for 1 hour during the day. We came home and it was shredded. We had it for 3 days! He did love it for the 2 nights he had it, and slept very well all snuggled up with it.
Here is the problem as I see it ... if you need it, you will never need it more than the first couple of nights. If you don't have it, by the time you order it on line and give it time to arrive, you will have missed several nights sleep. Guess it just depends on if you are willing to give up those nights or not. AnnaBelle has one and she slept through the night from night one. Our previous two doodles got us up several times a night for like 8 months. I've given lots of credit to the snuggle puppy. She still tries to take him out of her crate when ever she has a chance. We make her leave him (we call him Figgy, her puppy brother) in the crate as her special crate time toy.
