We pick our puppy up next weekend and our neighboring dogs bark incessantly when we are in the back yard. I hate the thoughts of even taking Yogi into the back yard to potty. Any ideas on how to keep him from picking up this bad habit once he's exposed to it non-stop?

We almost didn't buy this house because of them. Will it be a forgone conclusion that Yogi will bark back? Should I try to hide him in side yard :-( ?

My dog trainer would say to click and treat train him. So u would start clicking and treating while in the house and continue while walking outside. Keep clicking and treating while outside even through the barking. Do this every time. I never had to do this however another dog in our class was having similar issue and the owner did just that and says it worked.
We had this same problem. It was a little happy dod that would bark the entire time. Hours if they left it. Luckily they just moved out! Archie would look at him like ' ok you xa. Stop barking" so he didn't pick up that dogs bad habit. The sell sonic egg clicker things that work up to 100 feet. You could buy it to train your neighbors dog.rverytime it barks , your supposed to say no (or whatever command) if it stops u praise it if it keeps barking , you say no while clicking the sonic egg. It really works
My neighbors have a dog that barks non stop as well. It hasn't impacted my dogs one bit. Goldie is almost one year old and still to this day I have not heard her bark a single time. So there is hope:)

We have the same problem. Though Shaka doesn't bark back at them. It's very interesting. If anything, it is distracting to him, and he has a hard time focusing on going potty.  Keep us posted!
