Tara's breeder gave us a bullystick for her the day we picked her up. It was NOT odorless and OMD!! The entire car reeked of it. Tara just loved it and we didn't know they came in a low-odor form until much later so we endured the smell until it was gone. Now she gets odorless bullies from bestbullysticks.com and we are all happy! :)

I'm curious how often you give your dog bullysticks. Max loves them. I order also from bestbullysticks. Fast shipping also.

Tara's not an aggressive chewer so she always has one in process. I give her the standard 12' bullysticks and one will last her a week or more. I'm a little concerned about her choking on one once they get very small so we have a system in place where I ask her "Is it getting too small?" and she will spit it out so I can see it. If it is too small then I trade her for a new one.

I buy the small 6" & Max has one a day & I'm wondering if this too much? I have no idea what the nutritional info is on these things!! He is so routine. Dinner, bullystick then evening walk/poop!

The nutritional info is at the bottom of this page:

A 6 inch bully stick would have 48-60 calories, so you might want to adjust his food intake a little bit if he's getting one every day.

Thanks Karen. He actually has lost 3 lbs from his last annual vet visit. But I had a voice message earlier today from vet regarding his blood/urine tests and everything is normal except elevated amylase & lipase. She said he may be getting too much fat and usually recommends low fat diet. He is on orijen so maybe the bullysticks are adding too much fat. They were closed when I called back so I will go there Mon to get a copy of his test results.

Since Orijen is pretty high in fat, your vet may want you to change foods. If so, please let us help you select a lower fat food in The Food Group rather than going with an Rx food. :)

I hav

My dogs inhale bully sticks and then throw up so..... no bullys for them

My dogs love bully sticks but they only get them outside and eat them on their outdoor beds.  One 12" stick lasts three days and I put the timer on the range for 20 minutes.  After the 20 minutes I ask them to bring me their sticks and they usually do.  Then I put them in a ziplock bag and put them away until the next day.  I give them a stick maybe once a week.  Sometimes it is a couple of weeks.  They always consider them a treat.

Quincy takes at least a  few days, sometimes more,  to get the 12" fat ones down to where I discard them as a choke hazard (less than 3 inches) .  The stinky one was a braided ring and to my surprize it was better than half gone when we got home-so no more of those for 2 reasons!  stinky and has to be watched.  I thought the braided part would slow him down, but I guess the aroma (LOL) made it more enticing.  yuck.
