Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I started hoping for a dog four years ago, but allergies prevented me from seriously considering it. Then I found out about this breed I'd never heard of before. Everyone said how wonderful goldendoodles were...I was hooked. I went to see some of them, and sure enough, no allergic reactions!

Put my first deposit down in February of this year, but after looking into the breeder more, I just didn't feel he was a reputable one, so I passed on it and lost my deposit. Next breeder, due date passed on my litter, then I was informed the pups were reabsorbed...no puppies. Next breeder, due date passed on this litter, then I was informed it was a false pregnancy... no puppies. Really? Was I supposed to have a dog at all? I was devasted!

I tried again. So this August, Yogi was born for real.

I saw the pictures online of the puppies and liked the one they called "Maxwell", even with his eyes closed, I felt a connection and told my DH he was the one. A couple of weeks later, the next pictures were posted, I just knew looking in "Maxwell's" eyes which one I wanted. Being as though we were third pick, I fretted we might not get the one we wanted.

We got to go choose our puppy in early October, sure enough Yogi (Maxwell) won our hearts and he was the first to come to us. He was just middle of the road temperament, and not to mention, adorable. Best of all, he was still avaialble. Whew! ( I have to say though, I was prepared to love any and knew that the right one for us would be there). Also, we stayed in the room with all the doodles for at least an hour with no allergic reactions!!!!

I have been following all the messages posted on here, and I've been so touched by the warm loving feelings everyone has towards their doodles. They just sound like such a smart loving dog.

I can't wait to bring this guy home to our family, and begin this journey. Guess I better get going!
I'll be posting pictures later..... :-)

Leslie and Yogi, Congratulations, am so very happy for you.  That was such a beautiful post, a love story.  Puppies can be a handful, my Labradoodle was the toughest puppy ever, but it is so worth it, her disposition is wonderful.  I am single and retired and she is my life.  Be sure and use DK for all the help you need (wish  I had known about it when Breezy was a little one).  Good Luck, please keep us posted with stories and pictures. Enjoy Yogi

I am so happy to hear that you have found the doodle for you.  And Yogi is so very lucky to soon be going home with such loving parents.  Looking forward to pictures.

Here's our new boy!

He is adorable! How old is he? He looks like he is going to be a big doodle! Enjoy!

Cute, cute, and more cute:)   Enjoy that little one because just like kids, they grow up soooo fast!  I'm so happy for all of you!

Yogi is a mini English golden doodle. He was the largest of the litter. His breeder says he will be 35 pounds. Today he is
8 1/2 weeks old and weighed just under 9#.

We wanted the standard size originally, but felt for us that would be too big for our lifestyle. So we wanted the largest of the mini's.
Yogi is absolutely precious! Too cute!
You are so right Lonnie! They grow SO fast! Finley is almost nine months and HUGE (well I think he's big...he's 25 pounds but he started at five!). ;0)
Loo is a mini Labradoodle. We brought her home at 9 wks and she weighed 4 lbs. She is a small mini. She will be 2 in Dec and she weighs 16 1/2lbs now. Yogi looks huge to me. I will enjoy watching him as he matures! He is a fine looking puppy!

oh my goodness! how adorable!!! We got a new doodle last saturday, she's our second though.. we obviously love them. LOL:) but congratulations and enjoy!:)
