Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Finnley has almost reached the year and a half milestone. She had her first haircut at 6 months, and her second, 6 months later, and then a third (trim up), 1 month after that. All went well, and she always has looked great, and her doodle-ness always remained intact.
Just before her 6 month puppy cut.
Late spring

UNTIL YESTERDAY !!

I took Finnley to her regular groomer Doreen, only to find that Doreen was out sick. Okay, I could deal with that.
I explained to the woman taking Doreen's place that I knew Finnley was a bit matted in spots, from rolling, and laying in the fall leaves. I brush her regularly, but sometimes, mattes happen ! Told her to leave her tail, and face, I just wanted to see her eyes a bit more. Weeelll, I can definitely see her eyes now.... and everything else !!

Obviously this particular grooming will last for awhile, before she becomes my woolly bear doodle again.
No sense flipping out, what's done is done, and she IS kind of rocking the much skinnier Poodle look.
I'm a bit disappointed, but lesson learned. WAIT for DOREEN next time !!!
In the meantime, I am still looking at the glass half full. She is healthy and frisky, and now I am NOT begging her to come in the house, because she is hot and wants to stay outside ! See, it's all good.

Have a great weekend.
YESTERDAY !!!!
Holy Doodle, she looks sad doesn't she ?

Wish I could get a haircut and look skinny!

Oh Julie, I blew it because my hair is already short. Guess it's to late to try it now !

First of all Sheila, Finnley is adorable no matter what cut she has and second, you are one good Doodle mom with your look on the situation!   You rock Sheila:)   One good lesson:  always stick with "your" groomer!  It is a nice cut, just not the one you wanted.  Finnley does look a little sad, they are like us, when our "do" is not right, we feel it!

I have learned the lesson Lonnie. If Doreen is ever sick again, I'm outta there ! :)

She does look a bit sad but given the fact that her face has always been doodle "shaggy" and you could not really "see" it before.......maybe this is just the normal "look" for her.  She is a beauty with or without her doodle hair do!!  Think of the look on her face as "pensive" not sad!!  :>)

Well Gail, maybe you are right. I'll go with pensive. She was reflecting on "what the doodle happened !" LOL

Gail has a good point. Some years back, I commented that JD looked sad, and my GS said "Nonnie, that's just his face!"

Have to love the little kids, they always say the best and most truthful and very endearing things ! ♥

Holy Snout Nose
I do it to my doodle all the time. Point is, I do it to my doodle. If I were paying someone then I would expect perfection. It grows. She is healthy and skinny and perfect.  Great attitude.

I think she looks beautiful.  Maybe the snout needed cleaning and it would have been torture on her to get out all the gunk.  That is the problem we have here sometimes. Where does he get that stuff from that embeds in the snout?

Spud always looks sad with a haircut too.  It is amazing how different they look.
Give her a cute Frenchie name for a week to deal with the issue.
I call Spud, Philippe, or Francois and some others.

What should we call Finley?  Fi Fi?

Haha Joanne, I have been calling her Fi Fi !! Guess we are thinking alike :)

Joanne, I totally forgot to thank you for posting with the smileys and blingee !!
