Rosemary- I'm half Scottish, my mom's maiden name is Stewart, apparently according to my grandfather's relatives in Scotland, the "Stewart/Stuart" name difference comes from when the Stewarts were exiled to France. There isn't a W in French, so they changed the spelling. Of course, they think we're descendant tfrom Mary Queen of Scots also, so who knows if it's correct, LOL :)
It means household guardian, I live alone, he'll be "man" of the house andnwill be a redhead, so I thought it was only fitting to give him a Scottish name!
It'll tough to wait 25 more days! It seems so soon but far away too!
SO cute! He looks so pensive! Stewart seems like a perfect name. I love the rich red colored doodles- he looks similar to my little one.
Your girl is so cute! Is she a red too? My mom dog is a red mini F1 and the dad is a mini red poodle. I was glad they had such dark red pups. Now I hope he doesn't fade, I want him to keep that deep color!
I think the breeder technically called her a "dark apricot", but she gets pretty close to red depending on lighting. Her dad is a standard red poodle who has stayed a consistent deep red into adulthood so I am really hoping she holds onto her color also!
This is off the doodle subject but I was fascinated to find out the spelling of the name difference history but from the time I was pre high school I was intrigued with the very past history of the Scots, French and English, especially Mary, Queen of Scots reading everything I could find on the subject. Scottish blood does run in my family.
I am jealous!! Just kidding. I don't know you, but I am so happy for you! We are still waiting to hear we are pregnant haha! We expect to be able to bring ours home in March. I am having a difficult time waiting. I have had two children and had an easier time than I am with this! Congrats on finally starting your puppy journey!
