An Accidental and Magical Discovery!

Hi all:

Josie's Halloween costume arrived on Friday (I ordered it online) and as soon as I put it on her, she became completely calm and went to lie down and go to sleep.

I thought she would try to get it off, but she didn't - not even the hat!

Each time I've put it on her over the weekend, I get the same result. I'm thinking it might be having the same effect as a "Thunder Shirt" because it has a velcro strip that runs from her neck, all the way down her body and it must feel very snuggly, like when you swaddle a newborn baby!
 

She doesn't have a Thunder Shirt because she's not an anxious puppy, but I'm going out to buy her one for those times when I can't calm her down (like when we're ready for bed and she's running around the room...and other times like this). We were visiting my ill mother-in-law yesterday and as soon as I put the dress on, she just climbed onto the couch and went to sleep. Amazing!
