We are getting doodle #2 on monday. Her flight arrives from Seattle at 8:00 pm. We were just wondering how to introduce her to oliver. He is just a year and 2 months. He is just a great big love so we decided to get another. If any one has any suggestions on how to introduce them.. he is very freindly around other dogs and is very socialized, he just likes to nip a little and bite tails which has me a little worried, but other wise he just loves to play and play. Any information would be very helpful... Oliver's Dad

I am sure there are "correct" ways to do this like neutral places, etc, but whenever we have gotten a new puppy we just bring him in and show him to the other(s) and let them sniff and meet. That is all it has ever taken for us, especially with a young non-alpha dog. We just watch to see if there is going to be a problem and we haven't ever had one. I am sure others will have other suggestions that may be right for you. congrats on the new pup.
Congratulations!
I did what Nancy said I brought Jordan home and put her on the floor for Payton to sniff and check out.
I am sure it is not the correct way but it worked out fine for us.
Congratulations! I have never done anything "special" to introduce two dogs or a dog to a new pup. Bring puppy home, let puppy sniff out the backyard for a few minutes and then bring out your other dog and let them get to know each other.
uhhhhh I didn't know I was supposed to do anything special... I held Rusty in my arms and let Lucy sniff sniff sniff... then I put him down and Lucy "pawed" him to the floor so she could do her own inspection.. and that was pretty much it. My Rusty is only 6 1/2 weeks old so I wasn't worried about Lucy hurting him intentionally but UNintentionally... but ya know what?? Rusty is smart and when Lucy gets too rambunctious, he goes where Lucy can't get to him!! Lucy loves dogs and especially puppies.. and she is very happy with her new little brother....

I'll be very excited to hear about your doodle adventures!
You're so lucky. I'm going to follow your page so I know how it goes. I'm getting a new puppy in March/April. Fergie will be the same age and I'm getting another because she's also such "a great big love". Good luck. I'll be following your progress. Fergie and Cathy
