How Private is YOUR profile? A quick note to ALL members!

Just a quick FYI to all Doodle Kisses Members because I've gotten questions that touch on this topic:

If you keep your personal profile page on Doodle Kisses public (rather than private) it is STILL ONLY visible to other DK Members. NON Doodle Kisses Members can NOT see personal profile pages whether you make yours private or keep it public. Making your page "private" (which is okay!!) keeps your page private from DK members who are not yet on your friends list.

Some people have wanted to know why they couldn't share their pages with their "real life" friends and family even though they marked their page "Public" - THIS IS why. For the security and privacy of our members, our profile pages are all private to outsiders.

That said I would strongly discourage ANYONE from sharing their email, address, or phone number on their profile page (unless it is a business contact info they WANT anyone to see or have) -- if you want to share your personal email, please do so via private message rather than in page comments or discussions.

...so if DoodleKisses comes to the attention of any non-member, (family/friends or other) that non-member can sign up and access any or all DK members' pages - (unless that page is made private - for invited DK friends only.)

yes. but so it is with anything you do online.

That's right. But some DK members thought their real life friends and family couldn't access their page - or other DK members' pages, when in fact they can.

Right they can if they sign up and become members.

Yes. Outsiders can become members temporarily, for just the time it takes to access whatever information it is they are looking for....
