Posting this because at this moment I'm stuck at home waiting on my husband and fighting an anxiety attack. jace went potty about 30 min. ago and it was pretty much pure blood, called my current vet, soon to be ex vet because of the way I was treated over the phone, and they told me it was from "straining" Jace has only went 3 times today and barely had to strain, I told them that and all they said was he needed the metro. I'm fed up with them. I called the animal hospital and they said that this is important, they would see him and to get him there asap. I'm ready to go out the door as soon as my husband gets here. I have a dog on my hands that is pooping blood and is barely moving. I am terrified, one of my worst fears has occured and I'm helpless at this moment. I am furious at my current vets office, they must be a special kind of ignorant.... Please keep us in your thoughts, prayers, etc. I'll update soon.

how awful! thoughts and prayers are with you!

Sending all the positive energy I can your way. Wish I could send a hug along with it.

Prayers for you all.

I cannot imagine how scared you must be.  Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way. Be sure to let us know how he is doing and how you are doing.

Praying for you and jace.  Praying that the Vet has answers and that he will be on the mend soon.  We sure worry about our babies don't we?

We're all home and I have a good update, We took jace to the animal medical clinic in town and I just have to add before I go on, where have these people been my whole life, they were amazing, understanding, and very caring. they saw Jace immediately and the vet came in soon after. he took a stool sample right away and while he waited for the results he checked jaces temp(normal) teeth, eyes, nose, ears, and felt his belly, he said he couldnt feel any type of abnormality and jace wasn't showing any discomfort so he ruled out a bowel obstruction or GI injury right then, the stool sample came back negative for parasites so he did blood work and nothing showed up wrong. He concluded that Jace has an infection of some sort, he gave him an antibiotic injection, and sent us home with 7 days of amoxicillian (strong antibiotic), he said the infection was an infection of the intestines, he said that the reason we probably had blood was from the inflammation of the large intestine and colon which dont absorb blood as easily as the small intestine, this vet answered every question I had, and I had a lot, he talked and visited to see how jace was acting for about 30-45 minutes, he sent me home with strict instructions, 3 syringes full of pedialyte (non flavored) every 3-4 hours to prevent dehydration if he isn't drinking, if he starts vomiting or the diarrhea gets worse bring him back immediately and call him at his home phone to warn him as we come so he can be ready, and then he said we would do a full x-ray and check more problems, he also said that if he gets extremely lethargic to bring him in and to hook him up to an IV. I really like this place, looks like we found a replacement vet.  Thank you all for the kind words, I'm so thankful for my doodle kisses family

Sounds like you found an amazing very caring vet.  Please keep us up on how Jace is doing.

also, Jace's energy level has started to get a little higher, he's playing with his favorite ball and jumped up on the counter at the vet to say hello to everyone, his tail is wagging again and acting slightly normal:)

all it takes is for a caring person to make you feel better.  So glad Jace is feeling a little better and that he was taken good care of.  He's lucky to have you!

exactly, I felt so helpless and scared when my previous vet wouldn't even help me. When these people showed they cared I knew we were going to be alright :)

I'm so happy Jace got such good care and that he is doing well.

Soooooo glad Jace is feeling better and you too!
